Green Cleaning: Non-Toxic Cleaning Tips For A Safe Home

We can all agree that a clean, (almost) germ-free home is best for your baby and family. But, what if you don’t want to use harsh chemicals? Luckily, there’s a natural alternative to almost everything! And, the best news? The majority of these can be found on your pantry shelves—or on a quick trip to the drugstore!

Keep reading for four non-toxic products you can use to clean your home.

Baking Soda

Everyone has baking soda! Not only is it a pantry staple that naturally deodorizes, but it can cut through grease. Use it to scour pans after cooking as an alternative to products like Comet and AJAX.

Vinegar

Vinegar is basically the superman of your pantry. Not only can you use it to sanitize everything from bathrooms to microwaves to kitchen floors, it’s also a great way to rinse build-up from shampoo and styling products from your hair!

Lemon Juice

Freshly squeezed lemon juice can cut through grease and shine hard surfaces like tile. It also smells fresh and can help deodorize places like your kitchen sink.

Castile Soap

Castile soap is made from 100 percent plant oils; that means no chemicals and no animal products.  They’re great to use as a body wash (diluted with water), and also to cut through grease and grime.
